You will notice that Jonathan and Jane Walker named their children after leading abolitionists and free thinkers of their day. Lloyd Garrison Walker was named for William Lloyd Garrison, the editor of "The Liberator," which the Captain wrote articles for. Lloyd's son, Lloyd, Jr., married my grandfather's sister and thus my connection to the venerable Jonathan Walker clan.
